Q: Do I need to buy my ticket in advance?
A: Yes. All POINT routes use a reservation system similar to an airline–except that we don’t have assigned seats. You can generally buy a ticket on the Eastern route up until about 30 minutes before the bus leaves but we recommend buying further in advance of your trip. Greyhound and Amtrak sell our tickets so there are several different of options available. We recommend getting your ticket online at Greyhound.com or Amtrak.com, or by using the Greyhound or Amtrak apps. These are the quickest and easiest options. You can also buy a ticket over the phone by calling Greyhound at 1-800-231-2222 or Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL; or buy a ticket in person at the Hawthorne Station in Bend, Reid’s Country Store in Burns, the Ontario Senior Citizens Center, or any Greyhound or Amtrak station or authorized ticket seller in U.S. Please note our drivers don’t sell tickets. Also, ticketing information on Greyhound and Amtrak sites may be limited on mobile browsers.
Q: How do I find the POINT when I go to the Greyhound or Amtrak website?
A: Simply enter your origin and destination and you’ll see options to buy a ticket on the Eastern route, however, neither site will say “POINT.” On Greyhound’s site, our route is referred to as “Schedule 8409” and “Schedule 8410.” On Amtrak’s site, our route is referred to as “8409 Thruway Bus” and “8410 Thruway Bus.” You can buy your ticket from Greyhound or Amtrak. Ticketing information on Greyhound and Amtrak sites may be limited on mobile browsers.

A: Yes, there is a restroom on board in the rear of the bus! In addition, several of our scheduled stops are at a locations where restrooms are available to passengers.
Q: Is there some place I can park my car before I catch the bus?
A: In Bend, passengers are permitted to park in the lot at Hawthorne Station for free. If you need to park for more than one night please contact Cascades East Transit at 541-385-8680. In Ontario, passengers are permitted to park on the street in front of our bus stop for up to 72 hours, per city parking codes.
Q: Is there a way to take transit to or from the POINT bus stop?
A: Most likely. The POINT tries to coordinate with local, intercity, and train services as much as possible. Our main connections on the Eastern route are with the westbound Greyhound bus in Ontario (Schedule 1343, Denver-Portland) and local Cascades East Transit service in Bend.
Q: Can I get picked up or dropped off at a different stop than what’s on the schedule?
A: Unfortunately not. For safety reasons, the POINT only uses our designated stops. We do not make “flag stops.”
